The old saying, "Practice makes perfect" is a good rule of thumb, but I like to say, "Practice makes better" because I know I'm not going to be perfect. And, that's okay with me! In the ZIA group we had the task of making a 3 x 3 grid of our favorite tangles. Our own designs or tangles identified by others. I chose to take a look at "cadent" one of my favorite tangles from Rick and Maria at Zentangle®. I came up with some variations and could have kept going with variations just on this one tangle.
Thanks to Sandy P for putting this challenge out to us. Actually, it was an "entry fee" to play a game in the group. Yep, there are prizes and everything!
A Few Variations on Cadent
(I like the one that looks like a turning page - hmmm, maybe I should name it!)

I love these variations! I'm going to include this post in my weekly roundup.
ReplyDeleteYes - definitely name it! It's a singular tangleation and just BEAUTIFUL! (sorry for the late comment - I have a solid week of posts to catch up with!) **G
ReplyDeleteWow! You really took that one design in so many different directions. I like the turning page the best, too and I think you should definitely name it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done any zentangles for such a long time. Maybe I should do some again. I'm probably out of practice.
Thanks for your comment on my blog....I like your blog, too.
I just found this post and am absolutely fascinated by your different versions of Cadent.
ReplyDeleteCan you share with me how you did the one in the middle? I am struggling to get it!
