I wish I had more time to get to know her better.</p><p>Noah's Ark Wildlife Center had a really nice memorial posted on their blog. </p><p>Take a look here: <a href="http://www.noahsarkwildlife.org/in-memoriam/" target="_blank">In Memoriam of Sha</a></p><p>I have one of the many little gifts she gave me sitting on my desk</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgH1T-N69L_8-4kpCwp7vRRwpcE_A4wVb0vjMqV63GYpwkGGPwP0FkMzannzZVUfsjxz_x1iyELgtPfO8JLPppxpeg0YHSdrlOl2ljsbIG_kqx7kSH7H3gWWyzIXM1ihtG2_H7pzvBzCtCgAHLvre0HKmzdwNxiNSt9Gmnj4md-It8LmTWNu-yvrcdhUA=s4032" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgH1T-N69L_8-4kpCwp7vRRwpcE_A4wVb0vjMqV63GYpwkGGPwP0FkMzannzZVUfsjxz_x1iyELgtPfO8JLPppxpeg0YHSdrlOl2ljsbIG_kqx7kSH7H3gWWyzIXM1ihtG2_H7pzvBzCtCgAHLvre0HKmzdwNxiNSt9Gmnj4md-It8LmTWNu-yvrcdhUA=s320" width="320" /></a></div><p>Salley, Jeane and I met before Christmas to tangle and remember Sha. Before Covid, we met monthly at a local Cafe.</p><p>This zine with quotes on patterned backgrounds was used by our group to practice/learn new tangles. I designed the zine in Photoshop and had them printed on 11" x 17" paper. It is a one sheet fold zine. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_XKlWyNKHOY/YJaxxqdZ_RI/AAAAAAAAEqU/iqBGMOkhGigiMAtg7JYEgzQwPNRMIwkGACLcBGAsYHQ/s700/letterSize-Tangle-Play-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="541" data-original-width="700" height="309" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_XKlWyNKHOY/YJaxxqdZ_RI/AAAAAAAAEqU/iqBGMOkhGigiMAtg7JYEgzQwPNRMIwkGACLcBGAsYHQ/w400-h309/letterSize-Tangle-Play-1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We used the following tangles: <a href="http://openseedarts.blogspot.com/2015/10/gommi-tangle.html" target="_blank">Gommi</a>, <a href="https://pattern-collections.com/patterns-by-name/c-2/c-wing/" target="_blank">C-Wing</a>, <a href="http://thetangledway.blogspot.com/2015/03/gottago-new-tangle-pattern.html" target="_blank">Gottago</a> and <a href="https://tanglepatterns.com/2013/01/how-to-draw-palrevo.html" target="_blank">Palrevo</a>. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen="" class="BLOG_video_class" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/OwrBc_a-fzc" width="320" youtube-src-id="OwrBc_a-fzc"></iframe></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">But you can tangle anything you would like.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Download an 8.5" x 11" copy <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l86JmxUFGPaS_unmRH5UJF_dQ2BGE_8Y/view?usp=sharing" target="_blank">HERE</a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Click here for a <a href="https://womenwriteaboutcomics.com/2020/04/how-to-make-a-one-page-zine/" target="_blank">HOW TO MAKE a one page fold ZINE</a>.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br />ptrish40http://www.blogger.com/profile/00401087656579163679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7015574904678992525.post-50071285872419011362021-02-28T23:42:00.003-05:002021-05-08T12:04:40.078-04:00More Upcycled Pieces on Black Zendala Tiles<p> I must admit a black tile is not what I reach for typically. I've not enjoyed the drawing process anywhere near as much as I do on white or other neutral colors.</p><p>There were a number of pieces on black paper dumped into the "Work in Progress" box because I didn't like where they were and/or didn't know where they were going.</p><p>My intent with upcling these was not to make fabulous art, just take these somewhere else and to enjoy the process.</p><p><br /></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oW5WSyo9yC8/YJYG-uHiGfI/AAAAAAAAEo8/R3pZeKCa_No9D-qOqDn06r30TGMCi4mrACLcBGAsYHQ/s700/MoreScrapDala.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="651" data-original-width="700" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oW5WSyo9yC8/YJYG-uHiGfI/AAAAAAAAEo8/R3pZeKCa_No9D-qOqDn06r30TGMCi4mrACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/MoreScrapDala.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="text-align: left;">For instance this zendala became a "scrapdala" a testing area for different pens and colors. You can find the step outs and read about how Margaret came to this tangle at her website by clicking on <a href="http://enthusiasticartist.blogspot.com/2012/09/kunstler-new-tangle.html" target="_blank">Künstler</a>. This is one of my go to tangles, I just enjoy this worm like tangle so much!</p><p>I was messing around with using my glass dip pen and a beautiful ink by Noodlers' Ink, called "Kiowa Pecan". You can find Noodlers' Ink many places. Here is one place <a href="https://www.gouletpens.com/products/noodlers-kiowa-pecan-3oz-bottled-ink" target="_blank">KIOWA PECAN</a>.</p><p>Here is the image in my sketchbook.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YsidM18ppaM/YJQneXzivRI/AAAAAAAAEjE/mZSC764VtusEEIwDhd0dpfKQGpnM6xogwCLcBGAsYHQ/s700/hangingtubies.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="687" data-original-width="700" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YsidM18ppaM/YJQneXzivRI/AAAAAAAAEjE/mZSC764VtusEEIwDhd0dpfKQGpnM6xogwCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/hangingtubies.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p><br /></p><p>After scanning I decided to play around with the image in Photoshop. </p><p>I added some background using images from gel printing papers I made. This was fun!</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2p-a1yxLbw0/YJQnoqKzNQI/AAAAAAAAEjI/FX0mBO13YIYk1gXAsNAuaJfN-VoEA_i8ACLcBGAsYHQ/s1583/TubiePeople.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1548" data-original-width="1583" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-2p-a1yxLbw0/YJQnoqKzNQI/AAAAAAAAEjI/FX0mBO13YIYk1gXAsNAuaJfN-VoEA_i8ACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/TubiePeople.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div><br /></div><br /><p>I played around a little more with the image from sketchbook and tried making a wrapping paper pattern. I picked up too many rolls of beautiful designs. So of course I thought about using washi tape in a Zentangle project.</p><p>I decided to try some on the 3Z tiles.</p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="background-color: #fefefe; color: #333333; font-size: 16px;">The Zentangle 3Z Tile is a 3.5" x 3.5" x 3.5" equilateral triangle. It's die cut deckle edge and rounded corners match the look and feel of our other tiles. </span><span style="background-color: #fefefe; color: #333333; font-size: 16px;"> Read more here <a href="https://zentangle.com/collections/3z-paper-tiles" target="_blank">Zentangle 3Z</a></span></span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;">My thinking was that I could make a bunch of these and then string the 3Zs together like a row of pennants or bunting. Another idea was to fit them together into a 3Z ensemble.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;">Here area a sample of the 3Zs I tangled with washi tape. When I finish the project I will post a follow up picture.</span></p><p><span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oICWAzTnerg/YJQSzaWh0bI/AAAAAAAAEgA/QPyNuzlCs-o4epKyvHNOWVsSvT_s9qOkACLcBGAsYHQ/s700/Washi01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Click here - <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Bkk10dOgljR/?taken-by=tomas_padros" target="_blank">TEKTONIK</a></p><p>I love the straight lines and the shapes which develop as you explore with this tangle. The possibilities are infinite. I played for a few days in my journal. I can highly recommend it, but you don't have to take my word for it! Read the many comments on Tomas' Instagram Page.</p><p>Here is one of my attempts. If you haven't watched any of these videos it is a MUST WATCH.</p><p>If you stick with all the videos there is bigger surprise at the end, which I won't share here!</p><p>One of the things I love the most about these lessons is that they are a beginning. As long as your eyes can stay focused there is not getting tired of drawing it.</p><p>Margaret Bremner shared her explorations of a "crazy" Paradox on her blog <a href="http://enthusiasticartist.blogspot.com/search?q=crazy+paradox" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</p><p>Of course I had to try it! A few times and then some!</p><p>I used a glass dip pen. If you look closely at some of the lines you'll see that they are not as smooth and refined as with a Micron Pen (Sakura). The ink might bleed or make little blobs unexpectedly. But that's okay. Sometimes I like that imperfection.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v8S_PelJmak/YJXDCMHXYDI/AAAAAAAAElA/DGfBmiCqvYMYiAUg7G4Q6MZJ13uV_gOqACLcBGAsYHQ/s704/CraZblueNOSEbear.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="704" data-original-width="700" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-v8S_PelJmak/YJXDCMHXYDI/AAAAAAAAElA/DGfBmiCqvYMYiAUg7G4Q6MZJ13uV_gOqACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/CraZblueNOSEbear.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.gouletpens.com/products/noodlers-blue-nose-bear-3oz-bottled-ink" target="_blank">Noodlers' Blue Nosed Bear Ink</a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Uf3J_u4iFos/YJXDCIQMkRI/AAAAAAAAEk8/OfCx_VNSepcQweNO1BYbsUOAPpxIFtgVACLcBGAsYHQ/s700/CraZparadoxZendala.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="700" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Uf3J_u4iFos/YJXDCIQMkRI/AAAAAAAAEk8/OfCx_VNSepcQweNO1BYbsUOAPpxIFtgVACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/CraZparadoxZendala.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.gouletpens.com/products/noodlers-kiowa-pecan-3oz-bottled-ink" target="_blank">Noodlers' Kiowa Pecan</a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-74iqNbLlgz0/YJXDCI8Pk9I/AAAAAAAAEk4/I1gG9H-djPgZENxNue86mcY87i-H0kugQCLcBGAsYHQ/s704/CraZterraCOTTA.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="704" data-original-width="700" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-74iqNbLlgz0/YJXDCI8Pk9I/AAAAAAAAEk4/I1gG9H-djPgZENxNue86mcY87i-H0kugQCLcBGAsYHQ/s320/CraZterraCOTTA.jpg" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.gouletpens.com/products/monteverde-copper-noir-30ml-bottled-ink" target="_blank">Monteverde Copper Noir</a></div><p><br /></p>ptrish40http://www.blogger.com/profile/00401087656579163679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7015574904678992525.post-92072830056455332132020-04-16T15:47:00.001-04:002021-05-06T15:51:45.266-04:00SunnyMoon in my Journal with Crescent Moon Tangle<p style="text-align: center;"> There hasn't been much sunshine lately, so I made some in my journal.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IV6Z98C3pnk/YJRISL16_6I/AAAAAAAAEkM/FqrQD5886hUCtDHP0D7oxHJq_PaFRVKAACLcBGAsYHQ/s700/sunnyMoon.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="684" data-original-width="700" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IV6Z98C3pnk/YJRISL16_6I/AAAAAAAAEkM/FqrQD5886hUCtDHP0D7oxHJq_PaFRVKAACLcBGAsYHQ/s320/sunnyMoon.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Primary tangles used: Crescent Moon, Tipple</div>ptrish40http://www.blogger.com/profile/00401087656579163679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7015574904678992525.post-57778284075411988602020-04-07T14:59:00.001-04:002021-05-06T15:09:22.401-04:00Try a Voice Guided Tangle Lesson for a Pleasant Surprise!<p> I enjoyed sitting back, listening and letting my pen decide how to interpret the step by step voice instruction of Molly Hollibaugh on the Zentangle YouTube site.</p><p>There were no visual references to guide you to the end so you just had to trust your instincts and let yourself draw.
